"La casa de la Troya (1915) pertains to the group of formation novels that have been admitted to the modality of “university customs”. Alejandro Pérez Lugín’s novel also takes from the not very well-known, El último estudiante (1883), by Juan Armada y Losada (or the “Marquis of Figueroa”). The latter represents the canon of this generic modality inside Naturalism. The resemblances of these novels are obvious in both their general appearance as well as in certain smaller details."
